Ingredients for Paneer Canapes Recipe

  • Cottage Cheese 500 grams

  • Red Capsicum, Yellow Capsicum finely chopped 2

  • Oil 2 tbsps + for shallow frying

  • Yellow capsicum finely chopped 1/4 small

  • Red capsicum finely chopped 1/4 small

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 1/4 small

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp + for sprinkling

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • Bhuna masala 30 grams

  • Grated cheese for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Cut cottage cheese into 2 inch cubes. Scoop out a little from the centre of these cubes to make small canapés. Crumble the scooped cottage cheese and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non-stick pan. Add green chillies and sauté for half a minute.

Step 3

Add yellow capsicum, red capsicum, green capsicum and mix well.

Step 4

Add ½ tsp red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ½ tsp chaat masala and sauté for 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Add lemon juice and mix well. Add crumbled paneer, bhuna masala and mix well. Transfer the filling into a bowl.

Step 6

Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 7

Stuff the canapés with the filling and place in the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Sprinkle remaining red chilli powder, remaining chaat masala and little salt on the canapés. Cook turning sides till evenly golden.

Step 9

Transfer onto a serving plate. Garnish with grated cheese and serve.
