A favourite with the vegetarians, paneer made from milk is quite common, especially paneer recipes are quite popular in the Indian subcontinent. You can make it fresh, chhena – an another version or just use the ones that are readily available in the market to prepare everything from simple snacks, curries, sabzis, mithais, desserts and the likes. An ingredient that can be relished in the raw form too – try serving it as a starter just sprinkled with a little chaat masala, black salt and chilli powder!
Ingredients for Paneer Grill Recipe
Paneer (cottage cheese) cubed 1 cup
Oil 1 tablespoon
Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon
Ginger finely chopped 1 inch
Yellow thai curry paste 1-1½ tablespoons
Coconut milk 2-3 tablespoons
Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Lemon juice 1/2 tablespoon
Spring onion greens finely chopped 2 stalks + for garnishing
Method
Step 1
Line a serving platter with few Iceberg lettuce leaves, bell pepper curls and spring onion green flower.
Step 2
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 30 seconds. Add cubed cottage cheese and sauté till lightly golden from all sides.
Step 3
Combine yellow Thai curry paste and coconut milk in a bowl and mix.
Step 4
Add chilli flakes and prepared curry paste to the pan and mix. Add salt, mix and cook for a minute. Add lemon juice and spring onion greens and mix well.
Step 5
Serve hot on a lined serving platter and garnished with some chopped spring onion greens.
