Ingredients list for Parsi Shrimp Cakes

  • 2 cups Shrimps cooked
  • 2 slices Bread soaked
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 4 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 medium Onions chopped
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Bread crumbs dry
  • for deep-frying Oil

Method

  1. Blend shrimps, green chillies, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt into a coarse paste. Transfer mixture into a bowl. Add onions, egg and chopped coriander.
  2. Remove bread from water and squeeze dry. Add this to the shrimp mixture and mix thoroughly. Divide mixture into twelve balls. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs to get an even coating.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry balls on medium heat until golden brown. Remove, drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot.
