Ingredients list for Shalgam ka Halwa
- 4 medium Turnips peeled, grated and parboiled
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 tablespoon Cashewnuts chopped
- 1 tablespoon Almonds chopped
- 1 tablespoon Pistachios chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- Few strands of saffron
- 2 tablespoons Sorghum flour (bajre ka atta)
- 1 cup Grated jaggery
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick kadai, add cashewnuts, almonds and pistachios and sauté for a minute.
- Add turnips and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add green cardamom powder, saffron and sorghum flour and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add jaggery and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously, till all the jaggery dissolves.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
