Ingredients list for Tadkewala Aloo ka Raita

  • 2 medium Potatoes boiled, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 cups Yogurt whisked
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 3 Dried red chillies
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
  • for sprink Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp +
  • for sprink Roasted cumin powder 1/4 tsp +
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dried mango powder (amchur)
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add asafoetida, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, dried red chillies, green chillies and ginger and sauté for a minute.
  2. Add potatoes, mix well and sauté till the potatoes are lightly browned.
  3. Add ¼ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder and salt and mix well.
  4. Add salt to the yogurt, mix and keep aside.
  5. Transfer the potato mixture into a serving bowl. Add dried mango powder, 1½ cups yogurt and mix well. Spread the remaining yogurt on top.
  6. Sprinkle red chilli powder and roasted cumin powder and serve chilled.
