Ingredients for Tandoori Dhokla - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Dhokla

  • Gram flour (besan) 2 cups

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Ginger-green chilli paste 1/2 teaspoon

  • Yogurt 1 cup

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Fruit salt 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped, for garnish

  • Tempering

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves 7-8

  • Tandoori masala powder 2

Method

Step 1

Take gram flour in a bowl, add turmeric powder, salt, ginger-green chilli paste, yogurt and sufficient water and mix well to make a smooth and semi-thick batter. Add oil and fruit salt and mix well.

Step 2

Heat sufficient water in a steamer and grease a thali with oil. Pour the batter in the thali and place it in the steamer. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes. Take the thali out of the steamer and set aside to cool slightly. Cut into even sized cubes.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add 7-8 curry leaves, tandoori masala powder and dhokla cubes. Toss well and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Transfer the dhokla cubes onto a serving platter, garnish with coriander and serve hot.
