Ingredients list for Thakkali Pachadi

  • 2 small Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Split Black Gram Skinless
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 3 Dried red chillies broken
  • 1 a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • Salt to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, split black grams, red chillies and asafoetida.
  2. When the seeds begin to splutter add the tomatoes and red chili powder and sauté for about five minutes over a low heat.
  3. Set aside to cool completely Add the yogurt and salt and mix well.
  4. Serve cold.
