Everybody knows about the unbeatable taste of the Mumbai’s chaats! But there is so much more to explore and savour in the other regions of Maharashtra.

Ingredients for Upasacha Pulav Recipe

  • Ragi wash and dry 1 cup

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Cloves 2-3

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies slit 2

  • Curry leaves 1 sprigs

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch pieces

  • Peanuts roasted and ground 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped a few sprigs


Step 1

Heat ghee and add cloves, cumin seeds, slit green chillies and curry leaves.

Step 2

Sauté for a minute and add chopped ginger and coarsely ground peanuts. Add ragi and two cups hot water.

Step 3

Cook, covered, on low heat till done. Mix in salt and sugar.

Step 4

Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
