By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 Sep 2016 in Recipes Course New Update " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Main Ingredients Lamb shanks, Potatoes Cuisine Fusion Course Main Course Mutton Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 51-60 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Braised Lamb Shanks with Mashed Potatoes 1 Lamb shanks cut into pieces 4 medium Potatoes boiled and peeled 2 tablespoons Oil to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida) 1/2 cup Carrot finely chopped 1/2 cup Onions finely chopped 1 cup Heavy Cream 2 tablespoons Butter at room temperature 1/2 medium Potato peeled and cut into dices 3 cups Vegetable stock 1/2 teaspoon Dried basil 1/2 teaspoon Dried fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi) 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder 2 Basil leaves Method Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add salt and refined flour to lamb shank pieces and mix well. Place these in the pan and sauté till well browned from all sides. Add carrot, onion and celery. Mix well and sauté further. Add diced potatoes, mix and sauté further. Add vegetable stock, stir and reduce heat. Add dried basil, dried fenugreek leaves and garam masala powder. Stir to mix, cover and simmer for ½ an hour. Take boiled potatoes in a bowl. Add cream, salt and butter and mash well with a masher. Warm the mashed potatoes and place in a serving dish. Place the braised lamb on it, garnish with torn basil leaves and serve hot.
