Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Honey Garlic Prawns-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Medium prawns shelled and deveined 12-16

  • Honey 1/4 cup

  • Garlic finely choppd 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Light soy sauce 1/2 cup

  • Vinegar 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Butter 4 tablespoons

  • Broccoli florets blanched 16-20

  • Fried noodles to serve

  • Spring onion greensq chopped for garnish


Step 1

Mix together ginger paste, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar and honey in a bowl. Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well and pour into a zip lock bag. Add prawns, seal and set aside to marinate for 25-30 minutes.

Step 2

Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add just the prawns and cook for a minute. Reserve the marinade.

Step 3

Add broccoli, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the marinade remaining in the zip lock bag, mix and cook till fully done.

Step 4

Place fried noodles on a serving plate. Top with prawns, drizzle the sauce over, garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
