By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Fresh coriander leaves, Chicken on bone Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Main Course Chicken Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Kothimbir Chicken 1 cup + for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped 750 grams Chicken on bone cut into medium pieces to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 5-6 Cashewnuts 1 teaspoon Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto) 3-4 Green cardamoms 7-8 Garlic cloves 1/2 inch Ginger 4-5 Green chillies 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 4-5 Cloves 4-5 Black peppercorns 1/2 inch Cinnamon 3 tablespoons Oil 2 medium Onions sliced Method Marinate chicken with salt and turmeric powder. Take cashewnuts, poppy seeds, green cardamoms, garlic, ginger, green chillies, cumin seeds, cloves, peppercorns and cinnamon in a blender jar. Reserve 1 tablespoon chopped coriander and add remaining alongwith some water and blend to a fine paste. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions and sauté till golden. Add prepared paste, sauté and cook on high heat. Add marinated chicken, mix well and cook on high heat for a minute. Add some water, mix, cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 minutes. Add reserved chopped coriander, mix well and cook for a minute. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander.
