Kurmura Tadka with Almonds

Kurmura or puffed rice enriched with almonds. A traditional puffed rice called kurmura is made by heating rice and garnishing it with almonds. Something that is delicious and worth giving a try. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Kurmura Tadka with Almonds

  • 1 cup Puffed rice (kurmura/murmura)
  • 10-12 Almonds
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 6-7 Curry leaves roughly chopped
  • a pinch Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add almonds, curry leaves, turmeric powder and sauté for ten seconds.
  2. Add the puffed rice and mix well.
  3. Store in an airtight container and serve as required.
