Lotus Seed Curry Lotus seed or makhana as it is popular known in India make for a lovely texture. Lotus seeds and cottage cheese cooked in onion-tomato based gravy with Indian spices. By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Mar 2017 in Recipes Veg New Update Lotus Seed Curry Main Ingredients Lotus seeds, Oil Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1 cup lotus seeds 2 teaspoons oil 2 green chillies, finely chopped 6-8 curry leaves 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste 2 medium onions, finely chopped 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 2 teaspoon coriander powder 1 cup fresh tomato puree 1 medium potato. quartered and sliced 1/4 cup yogurt Salt to taste 100 grams paneer (cottage cheese), cut into medium cubes Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnishing Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger-garlic paste and onions and sauté till the onions are light brown. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and sauté for two to three minutes. Add tomato puree mix well. Add lotus seeds and potatoes with half cup water and mix well. Cover and cook for five minutes. Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for four to five minutes. Add salt and cottage cheese and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
