Ingredients list for Masoor Tikki-SK Khazana
- 1 cup Whole red lentils (sabut masoor) soaked for 4-5 hours
- 1 Medium onion sliced
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 3/4 cup Dried breadcrumbs
- 3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
- for shallow frying Ghee
- to serve Onion rings
- to serve Lemon wedges
Method
- Cook together red lentils, onion, garlic, ginger, salt, chilli powder and garam masala powder in sufficient water till soft. Transfer into a bowl and mash and let it cool.
- Add breadcrumbs, coriander leaves and chaat masala powder and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.
- Heat some ghee on a non-stick tawa. Place tikkis on it and shallow-fry, turning sides, till golden brown on both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with onion rings and lemon wedges.
