Ingredients

  • ½ cup black gram (urad dal) batter
  • 3 tablespoons finger millet (nachni) flour
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ tablespoon oil 
  • 1 small green capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon ghee

Method

  1. Mix together black gram batter, finger millet flour and sufficient water in a bowl to form a smooth batter. Add more water, if required, to adjust consistency. Add salt and baking soda and mix well. 
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick tawa. Pour a ladleful of the prepared batter and spread evenly. Add green capsicum, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, ghee and cook till the underside turns golden brown. Flip and cook for 2-3 minutes. 
  3. Remove from heat, transfer to a serving platter and serve with green chutney.
