Put them in a grinder. Add fresh basil leaves, garlic, sea salt, half the olive oil (preferably cold pressed extra virgin olive oil) and grind to a smooth paste. Add the remaining olive oil and mix. This can be used as a dip or a salad dressing. Cut diagonal slices of French bread, spread some tapenade over it and serve.
