By Sanjeev Kapoor 26 Sep 2016 in Recipes Course New Update " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Main Ingredients Lentils, Tomatoes Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Sabut Masoor Ki Dal 1 cup Lentils to taste Tomatoes 1 inch piece Ginger finely chopped 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 2 Bay leaves 1 medium Tomato finely chopped 2-3 Green chillies slit 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Wash and cook lentils with four cups of water, salt and ginger in a pressure cooker till three whistles. Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and bay leaves. When the cumin seeds begin to change colour, add tomatoes and stir-fry till fat separates. Add green chillies, garam masala powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder and sauté for a minute. Add cooked lentils to the mixture and bring to a boil. Simmer for about ten minutes. Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
