By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Feb 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Split bengal gram, Onions Cuisine Tamil Nadu Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 1.30-2 hour Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Chana Dalwada 3 cup Split bengal gram 2 medium Onions 6 Green chillies 1 inch piece Ginger 4 cloves Garlic 12-14 Curry leaves to taste Salt to deep fry Oil Method Soak the dal for one-two hours and then grind to a coarse paste by adding very little water. Peel, wash and finely chop the onions. Wash and finely chop the green chillies. Wash and tear roughly the curry leaves. Peel and finely chop ginger and garlic. Add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and salt to the ground chana dal. Divide this mixture into equal portions. Using wet hands roll each portion into a ball and flatten them slightly. Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry these vadas till golden brown in color. Drain and serve hot with chutney or sauce.
