Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Mazedar Recipe

  • Chicken cut into small pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Oil 5 tablespoons

  • Bay leaf 1

  • Cloves 8-10

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Green cardamoms 8-10

  • Black cardamoms 2

  • Onions sliced 6 medium

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon

  • Tomato puree 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Sweet date and tamarind chutney 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan, add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms and black cardamoms and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2

Add onion and sauté till golden brown.

Step 3

Add chicken pieces, mix well and saute for two minutes.

Step 4

Add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.

Step 5

Mix well and saute for a few minutes.Add tomato puree and cook for a few minutes.

Step 6

Add two and a half cups of water, salt, garam masala powder and tamarind-date chutney.

Step 7

Mix well, cover and cook till the chicken is done. Serve hot.
