Chicken Pita Pockets The famous Middle Eastern pita bread stuffed with spicy chicken and mayonnaise. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Dec 2014 in Recipes Non Veg New Update Main Ingredients Boneless Chicken, Pita Bread Cuisine Middle Eastern Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Tangy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Chicken Pita Pockets 2 Boneless Chicken cut into thick strips 2 Pita Bread 2 Cloves 1 inch piece Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg powder 3/4 teaspoon Lemon juice 3 teaspoons Olive oil 2 cloves Garlic chopped to taste Salt 1 Green chilli chopped 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds crushed 1 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns 3 tablespoons Mayonnaise 1 cup Lettuce leaves shredded Method Pound cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg powder to a fine powder. Mix lemon juice, one teaspoon olive oil, garlic, salt, green chilli, crushed coriander seeds, crushed peppercorns and the spice powder in a bowl. Rub this mixture on the chicken strips and marinate them for five to six hours, preferably in the refrigerator.Heat remaining oil in a non-stick grill pan. Add the chicken and cook, turning sides, till cooked evenly and soft on both sides. Combine the mayonnaise and shredded lettuce in a bowl. Cut the pita breads into halves and open out the pockets. Put the mayonnaise-lettuce mixture and grilled chicken into each pocket. Serve immediately.
