Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chilli Chicken Tart Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into small cubes 400 grams

  • Green chilli finely chopped 1-2

  • tart shells 8-12

  • Salt to taste

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1½ teaspoons

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Celery finely chopped 1 inch

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green capsicum cut into thin strips ½ medium

  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Spring onion greens finely chopped 1-2 stalks


Step 1

Take chicken in a bowl. Add salt, ½ tablespoon cornflour and crushed peppercorns and mix well.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add chicken mixture and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Heat remaining oil in another non-stick pan. Add celery and sauté for 30 seconds. Add ginger and sauté for 30 seconds. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add green chilies and sauté for 30 seconds. Add sautéed chicken, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add capsicum and mix. Add soy sauce and 2-3 tablespoons water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 5

Mix remaining cornflour with some water to make a smooth slurry. Add slurry to chicken mixture along with salt, mix and cook till it thickens. Add ½ of the spring onion greens, mix and cook for 1 minute.

Step 6

Place tart shells on a serving platter. Put some chili chicken mixture in each shell and top with remaining spring onion greens and serve immediately.
