Crushed Tender Jackfruit

Ingredients 

  • 500 grams tender jackfruit pieces 
  • 1 teaspoon split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions 
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Boil jackfruit in 4-5 cups water in a non-stick pan till it becomes softs. Cool boiled jackfruit and crush.
  2. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add red chilli flakes and split skinless black gram and sauté till it is lightly browned. Add crushed garlic, curry leaves and onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add crushed jackfruit and salt and saute' well for another 5 minutes.
  3. Serve hot.
