Ingredients for Green Chilly Dal Recipe

  • Split Pigeon Pea 1 cup

  • Green Chilli 8-10

  • Garlic 3-4 cloves

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Tomato 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Pressure cook the split pigeon pea in 2 cups water till tender.Grind together green chillies and garlic to a fine paste.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non stick pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and saute. When it starts splutterin add onions and saute till light brown.

Step 3

Add tomatoes,green chilli-garlic paste, salt and saute for a minute. Add the dal and half cup water and let it simmer for five to ten minutes. Serve hot garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
