Ingredients list for Kashmiri Kahwa

  • 4 teaspoons Green tea
  • 1 Stick Cinnamon
  • 2 Green cardamoms crushed
  • 2 Cloves
  • 4 pinches Saffron (kesar)
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar/honey

Method

  1. Boil 3 cups of water in a deep non stick pan along with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves and pour over the tea.
  2. Leave to infuse on low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, dissolve saffron in a little water by rubbing it gently.
  4. Strain the tea and add the saffron liquid together with almonds.
  5. Sweeten if you like and serve hot.
