By Sanjeev Kapoor 06 Apr 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Red Lentils, Dill Leaves Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Masoor Suva Dal 1 cup Red Lentils soaked for 15 minutes and drained 2 tablespoons Dill Leaves finely chopped 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Oil 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds 3-4 Curry leaves 2 teaspoons Garlic chopped 1/2 teaspoon Green chillies chopped 1/4 cup Onions finely chopped Method Place red lentils in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, salt and one and a half cups of hot water and pressure cook till two whistles are given out. Open the lid when the pressure reduces completely and whisk well. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add curry leaves, garlic, green chillies and onions and sauté till the onions are lightly browned. Add the cooked lentil and one cup of water, mix and bring the mixture to a boil. Add dill leaves, mix well and simmer for five to seven minutes. Serve hot.
