Ingredients
- 1 cup red lentils ,soaked for 15 minutes and drained
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill Leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 3-4 curry leaves
- 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped green chillies
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
Method
- Place red lentils in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, salt and one and a half cups of hot water and pressure cook till two whistles are given out. Open the lid when the pressure reduces completely and whisk well.
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add curry leaves, garlic, green chillies and onions and sauté till the onions are lightly browned.
- Add the cooked lentil and one cup of water, mix and bring the mixture to a boil. Add dill leaves, mix well and simmer for five to seven minutes. Serve hot.
