Sesame Brittle or Til Gajjak Roasted sesame seeds, coconut and almonds cooked with ghee and powdered sugar, spread on greased plate to set By Sanjeev Kapoor 31 Jul 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Sesame seeds (til), Sugar Cuisine Uttar Pradesh Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Difficult Others Veg Ingredients list for Sesame Brittle or Til Gajjak 1 cup Sesame seeds (til) 3/4 cup Sugar powder 1/4 cup Almonds chopped Coconut grated 2 teaspoons Ghee 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) Method Heat a tawa and dry roast the sesame seeds. Remove and heat and set aside. On the same tawa dry roast almond and coconut for two minutes till lightly golden. Place a silver foil in top of a tray and grease it lightly with little ghee. Heat the remaining ghee in a non stick pan add the powdered sugar and stir continuously on low heat. Add cardamom powder and fennel seeds and the dried nuts. Mix well. Add the sesame seeds and mix again.Remove on the prepared tray and spread the mixture evenly to a thin layer.Cut with a sharp knife and let it cool.
