Ingredients for Squid Koliwada Recipe

  • Squids cut into rings 10-12 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Rice flour 3 tablespoons

  • Ginger and garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 teaspoons

  • Cumin powder roasted 1 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 cup

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green mint and coriander chutney to serve

  • Fresh coriander and fresh mint leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Place the squid in a bowl. Add the salt, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder and lemon juice and mix well.

Step 2

Add the gram flour and mix. Add the yogurt and mix.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Add the squids, one by one, ensuring that the kadai is not crowded. Deep fry till crisp and golden. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Arrange them in a serving platter and sprinkle chaat masala on top. Serve hot with green mint and coriander chutney.
