This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 May 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Jaggery (gur), Rice Cuisine Punjabi Course Rice Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Gur Ke Chawal 1 cup Jaggery (gur) grated 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked 2-3 tablespoons Ghee 1 inch stick Cinnamon 3 Black cardamoms 2-3 Cloves 4 tablespoons Cashewnuts finely chopped 2 tablespoons Almonds finely chopped 1 1/2 cups Milk a few strands Saffron (kesar) Method Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add cinnamon, black cardamoms, black peppercorns, cloves, cashewnuts and almonds and saute till fragrant and lightly browned. Add jaggery, 1½ cups water, milk, saffron and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously. Drain and add rice and mix well.Cook for 8-10 minutes. Reduce heat, cover and cook for 4-5 minutes or till the rice is cooked. Serve hot.
