By Sanjeev Kapoor 20 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basa fillets, Cumin seeds Cuisine Punjabi Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Khud Style Baked Fish 2 large Basa fillets cut into steaks 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 10-12 Garlic cloves to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Dried red chilli paste 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder Juice of 1 lemon 1/2 cup Hung yogurt 2 teaspoons Ghee 1-2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 cup Basmati rice parboiled 4 pieces Aluminium foil Method Preheat the oven to 180ยบ C. Dry roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fennel seeds in a small non-stick pan till fragrant. Remove from heat, cool and grind to a powder. Char the garlic cloves and grind into a paste with a pinch of salt. To make the marinade, put the ground powder and garlic paste with red chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice, yogurt and ghee in a bowl and mix well. Add fresh coriander and mix well. Apply the marinade evenly to the fish steaks. On each aluminium foil piece, place a portion of rice. Sprinkle some water on top and place the marinated fish on it and wrap tightly. Place these parcels on a baking tray, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for eight to ten minutes. Serve immediately.
