By Sanjeev Kapoor 30 Jun 2018 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Medium crabs, Fresh coconut Cuisine Karnataka Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Mangalorean Crab Curry - SK Khazana 4 Medium crabs claws separated and cleaned 1 cup Fresh coconut scraped 4 Medium onions finely chopped 3-4 Dried red chillies 2 teaspoons Coriander seeds 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 5-6 Garlic cloves 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 10-12 Black peppercorns 2-3 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 12-16 Curry leaves to taste Salt 2 1/2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp 3/4 cup Coconut milk a few for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs Method Blend together coconut, half the onions, red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds and peppercorns with sufficient water to a smooth paste. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves and remaining onions and sauté till onions turn golden brown. Add the prepared paste and stir. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook till the oil separates. Add crabs with claws, stir, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes or till fully done. Add tamarind pulp and mix well. Add coconut milk, mix well and cook till the mixture comes to a boil.
