By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Nov 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basmati rice, Ghee Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Rice for Biryani 1 1/2 cup Basmati rice , soaked for 15-20 minutes and drained 2 tablespoons Ghee 2 Bay leaves 4-5 Cloves 3-4 Green cardamoms 5-6 Black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon Caraway seeds to taste Salt a few Saffron strands Method Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add bay leaves, cloves, green cardamoms, peppercorns and caraway seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add 5 cups water, salt and saffron, mix and bring the mixture to boil. Add rice, mix and cook till ¾ done. Drain in a colander.
