Sarson Chole Ka Saag Chole and Sarson ka saag are two of the most popular dishes of Punjab. Here we have combined the two to make this unique winter dish. By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 Sep 2024 in Recipes Main Course Vegetarian New Update Main ingredients Sarson leaves, Chickpeas, Ghee, Ginger, Garlic, Onion, Green chillies, Spinach leaves, Garam masala powder, White butter Cuisine Indian Course Main course vegetarian Prep time 15-20 minutes Cook time 15-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Savoury Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 1 large bunch of sarson leaves 1½ boiled chickpeas (chole) 3-4 tablespoons ghee 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic 1 medium onion, finely chopped 2-3 green chillies, chopped 20-25 spinach leaves Salt to taste ½ teaspoon garam masala powder White butter cubes for garnish Method Heat ghee in a non-stick deep pan, add ginger and garlic, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Add onion, mix well and saute till translucent. Add green chillies and mix well. Add sarson leaves, mix and cook till the leaves wilt. Add spinach leaves, mix and cook for 1 minute. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Switch the heat off and blend the mixture till smooth with an electric hand blender. Switch the heat on, add boiled chickpeas, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add garam masala powder and adjust salt and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
