Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Kerala Chicken Curry Recipe

  • Chicken cut into 1 cm pieces 1 kilogram

  • Shallots 1 tablespoon

  • coriander leaves 2 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Coconut oil 4 tablespoons

  • Shallot sliced 500 grams

  • Ginger 2 piece

  • Garlic sliced 1 clove

  • Coconut 1/2 cup

  • Curry leaves 15-20


Step 1

Heat a non stick pan. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and dry roast for one minute on low flame.

Step 2

Marinate the chicken with roasted spices, half of the garam masala, salt and keep aside for thirty minutes.Heat oil in a non stick pan.

Step 3

Add shallots, ginger, garlic, coconut pieces amd curry leaves.Sauté till onions become soft.

Step 4

Add chicken and sauté for five minutes. Add two cups water and mix well.

Step 5

Sprinkle remaining garam masala powder, mix well. Cover with a lid and cook till chicken is completely done.

Step 6

Add more water if needed.

Step 7

Check seasonings and serve hot with chapati.
