Ingredients list for Nutriwale Chawal - SK Khazana

  • 1 cup Basmati rice soaked for 15 minutes
  • 1 cup Soya granules
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3-4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 6 Green cardamoms
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 Medium onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 2-3 Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 Medium tomatoes chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespo to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder

Method

  1. Take the soya granules in a bowl, add milk and let them soak for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves and cumin seeds, sauté till colour changes.
  3. Add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger paste and garlic paste, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, mix well and sauté. Add tomatoes and salt, mix well and sauté till tomatoes turn pulpy.
  5. Add soaked soya granules and mix well. Cover and cook till dry.
  6. Drain and add rice, mix and sauté for 2 minutes. Add 1½ cups water and mix well. Add garam masala powder and coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. Cover and cook on low heat till rice is done. Stir once or twice while rice is cooking.
  8. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
