Ingredients list for Pudina Gosht
- 800 grams Mutton cut into small pieces on the bone
- 1 bunch for garnish Fresh mint leaves
- 4-6 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2 piece Ginger sliced
- 10-12 cloves Garlic
- 5-6 Green chillies halved
- 10-15 Cashewnuts
- 1 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 4-5 Black cardamoms
- 4-5 Green cardamoms
- 4-5 Cloves
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 2 Onions sliced
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
Method
- Heat 2-3 tbsps oil in a handi. Add cumin seeds and sauté. Add ginger, garlic, green chillies and sauté lightly. Add cashewnuts and sauté till they turn light brown.
- Switch off the heat, add mint leaves, coriander leaves, turmeric powder and mix well. Transfer the mixture into a mixer jar.
- Heat 2-3 tbsps oil in a handi, add black cardamoms, green cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and sauté.
- Finely slice onions, add and sauté till lightly browned. Add mutton and mix well.
- Add salt and mix. Add 1 cup water and cook for 4-5 minutes. Grind the mint mixture with a little water to a fine paste. Add yogurt to the mutton and mix well.
- Add ground paste and cook 35-40 minutes or until the mutton is tender. Garnish with mint leaves and serve hot.
