Ingredients
- 7-8 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons pure ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- A pinch asafoetida
- 1 green chilli broken
- 10 curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves chopped
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
Method
- Heat the gheein a non stick pan. Add the asafoetida, cumin seeds, curry leaves, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and sauté for a minute on medium heat.
- Add the tomatoes and sauté for about two minutes. Add the salt, sugar, green chillies and half a cup of water and mix well. Reduce heat to low once the mixture comes to a boil and cook for ten to fifteen minutes.
- Add coriander leaves and garam masala powder and mix well.
- Serve hot.
