By Sanjeev Kapoor 04 May 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basmati rice, Onions Cuisine Parsi Course Rice Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Brown Rice- Sk Khazana 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice washed, soaked for 30 minutes and drained 2 large Onions thinly sliced 1 1/2 tablespoons Ghee 4-5 Cloves 6-8 Black peppercorns 3-4 Green cardamoms 1 1/2 inch stick Cinnamon 1 1/2 teaspoons Granulated sugar to taste Salt for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs Method Heat ghee in a deep pan, add cloves, black peppercorns, green cardamoms, cinnamon stick and sauté till fragrant. Add onions and sauté till they turn a light golden. Add sugar, mix well and cook till the onions are caramelised. Add rice, salt and 3 cups water and mix well. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or till the rice is cooked completely. Take the pan off the heat.
