Ingredients

  • 500 grams minced mutton (keema)
  • 4 white bread slices (pav)
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 black peppercorns
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 1 large tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon mix masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Mint leaves for garnishing
  • Onion slices for serving
  • ½ lemon for serving

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, black peppercorns and cloves.
  2. Add onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, mix masala and salt, sauté till tomatoes turn soft and pulpy. 
  3. Add minced mutton, ¼ cup water and mix well. Add little water and mix again. Cover and cook till pressure is released 4-5 times. 
  4. Remove from heat and cool at room temperature. Transfer the keema mixture to a serving bowl. 
  5. Garnish with mint leaves and serve hot with white bread slices, onion slices and half a lemon.
