Ingredients list for Prawns Ghee Roast - SK Khazana

  • 400 grams Medium prawns shelled, deveined, washed and patted dry
  • 3 tablespoons Ghee
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 4-5 Dried red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
  • 6-8 Cloves
  • 8-10 Black peppercorns
  • 8-10 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
  • 3 tablespoons Yogurt whisked
  • 1 tablespoon Jaggery chopped
  • 10-12 + to garnish Curry leaves

Method

  1. Take prawns in a bowl, salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
  2. Dry-roast dried red chillies in a non-stick pan and transfer into a bowl. Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves and black peppercorns in the same non-stick pan till fragrant.
  3. Transfer all the spices into a grinder jar. Add garlic, tamarind pulp and sufficient water and grind to a smooth paste.
  4. Heat ghee in the same non-stick pan, add the ground paste, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add yogurt, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add salt and mix well. Add the marinated prawns and mix well. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Add jaggery, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add curry leaves, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with curry leaves and serve hot.
