By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 Aug 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Mutton, Coconut milk Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Mutton Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Badami Gosht 1/2 Mutton blanched 500 grams Coconut milk 8-10 strands Saffron (kesar) 2 cups Yogurt 2 cups Caraway seeds (shahi jeera) to taste Salt 1/4 cup Ghee 2 Stick Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom seeds 6 Cloves 3 large Onions chopped 2 teaspoons Ginger chopped 3 cloves Garlic chopped 2 cups Coconut milk Method Add one third cup hot water to saffron strands and keep aside. Mix yogurt, caraway seeds, salt and saffron in a bowl. Add mutton and marinate for thirty minutes.Heat ghee in a non stick pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves. Sauté for one minute. Add onions, ginger, garlic and sauté till onions are golden brown. Remove the mutton pieces from the marinade and add to the pan. Sauté for six to eight minutes. Add half cup water, almond paste, chilli flakes to the marinade. Sauté for ten minutes. Add coconut milk, simmer and cook till the mutton is tender.
