Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Kali Mirch Ka Gosht Recipe

  • Crushed Black Peppercorns 1 tablespoon

  • Mutton cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Bay leaves 2

  • Black cardamoms 3

  • Green cardamoms 6

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Green chillies slit 3

  • Onions sliced 4 medium

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Cashewnut paste 1 cup

  • Ghee 1 tablespoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan, add bay leaves, black cardamoms, green cardamoms, cinnamon, green chillies and onions and sauté till the onions become translucent.

Step 2

Add mutton, ginger-garlic paste, salt and mix well. Add enough water to completely immerse the mutton. Cover and cook for 25 minutes.

Step 3

Add cashewnut paste, mix well and continue to cook for 5-6 minutes. Heat ghee in another non stick pan, add crushed black peppercorns and sauté.

Step 4

Add this tempering to the mutton. Add garam masala powder and cream and mix well.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving bowl and sprinkle some crushed black peppercorns and serve hot.
