By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Oct 2018 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Basmati rice, Ghee Cuisine Karnataka Course Rice Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Ghee Rice-SK Khazana 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked and drained 2 tablespoons Ghee 2 Bay leaves 3 Green cardamoms 1 inch Cinnamon 1 Star anise 4-5 Cloves 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 teaspoon Ginger grated 6-8 Raisins 8-10 Cashewnuts 1 Large onion sliced 1 sprig Curry leaves to taste Salt 1 sprig Curry leaves fried Method Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, fennel seeds and ginger, mix and sauté till fragrant. Add raisins, cashewnuts and onion and mix well. Cover and sauté till onions turn golden brown. Add curry leaves and mix. Add rice and mix well. Add 3 cups water, salt, mix, cover and cook till the rice is fully done.
