Kadai Gosht Hussainee Mutton cooked in almond paste This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 20 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Boneless mutton, Yogurt Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Mutton Prep Time 1.30-2 hour Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Kadai Gosht Hussainee 500 grams Boneless mutton cut into ¾ inch pieces 1 cup Yogurt whisked to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Dried fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi) crushed 6 tablespoons Oil 3 medium Onions 2 inch piece Ginger 15-20 cloves Garlic 2 1/2 teaspoons Coriander seeds crushed 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds 3-4 Dried red chillies 1 1/2 teaspoons Mustard seeds 1 medium Green capsicum 1 medium Tomato 3 tablespoons Almond paste 1 cup Water 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder Method Place mutton in a bowl, add yogurt, salt, red chilli powder and mix. Add kasuri methi and mix. Keep the bowl in a refrigerator to marinate for 1 hour.Heat 4 tbsps oil in a deep non stick pan. Slice 2 onions and add. Cut ginger into thin strips and roughly chop garlic and add both to the pan and sauté till lightly browned. Crush together coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies and mustard seeds. Chop the remaining onion along with capsicum and tomato into ½ inch pieces. Add the ground spices to the sautéing onions and mix. Add mutton and mix and sauté on high heat for 4-5 minutes. Heat 2 tbsps oil in another non stick pan, add onion and capsicum and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add almond paste and 1 cup water to the mutton and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat. Add tomato to sautéing onion-capsicum, mix and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add garam masala powder to the mutton, mix, cover and cook till the mutton is completely cooked. Garnish with the sautéed onion-capsicum-tomato and serve hot.
