Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Meatball Pulav Recipe

  • Chicken mince 200 grams

  • Basmati rice soaked and drained 1½ cups

  • Ghee 3 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 4-5

  • Green cardamoms 4-5

  • Bay leaves 2

  • Onions sliced 2 medium

  • Chicken stock 2 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Garam masala powder 2 teaspoons

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh mint leaves finely chopped ½ cup

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2-3

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Egg 1

  • Fried onions 1 cup


Step 1

Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, cloves, green cardamoms and bay leaves and sauté for a minute. Add onions and sauté till lightly browned.

Step 2

Add some of the garlic and ginger and sauté well. Add1 teaspoon garam masala powder and rice and mix well. Add chicken stock and salt and mix well. Cover and cook till the rice is done.

Step 3

Grind chicken, remaining garlic, ginger, coriander leaves, mint leaves, fried onions, green chillies, salt and the remaining garam masala powder to a fine paste. Transfer this on a plate, dampen your palms in water and shape them into balls.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 5

Break egg in a bowl, add salt and whisk well. Dip meatballs in it and deep-fry them in hot oil till golden and crisp on all the sides. Drain them on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Add the fried meatballs to the rice and mix well. Add fried onions. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
